All these babies... {San Diego Newborn Photographer}

All these babies lately, I feel so blessed!

Here is Landon, and be still my beating heart, just look at him!

I tease, I tease! But just long enough to tell you the second I met Landon, and saw how he only had eyes for his mom. My heart just melted. Right there on the floor.

Okay - this is Landon.

Fun fact: Because of the way some of these pictures are taken, you can see a fun reflection in the babies eye's.  A lot of times, it is my reflection as a hoover. Not this time though, because of how I was angled, that would be his mom, Jenn, reflecting in his eyes.

Such a sweetheart, and those eyes.
Welcome to the world Landon, and thank you for sharing him with us Jenn and Brian!

This isn't one sided {San Diego Children's photographer}

If you have had a session with me, I have a feeling you might have gotten the impression that I have a son that I am, to put it lightly, wild about.

We adore every bit of him.

Each month we do a "photo session" with Wes.  Our plan is to take all of these photos and create a keepsake hard cover book for him.  To further the fun, we will be leaving the book out for guests at his first birthday to sign, leave a quick note, funny anecdote - it all works.

Today for our session we braved the cold, but with a plan!  We ventured a hop, skip and a jump away to Wes' great grandparents house. They have a beautiful field next door which allowed us to brave the cold, but quickly ditch out and escape into their warm home for a quick visit.

Good plan!

This is my baby

Great Grandpa even got in on the action - he made himself useful, I am contemplating the pros of bringing him along

Like all kids, sometimes shoots don't go as well as can be expected. Kids get grumpy, tears are shed, they don't always have the same plans that you do - and it is okay! Everyone needs bribes downtime. Like real sessions you just go with it - since this is my baby, I get to show you the behind the scenes fun!

Then we were back on track. Hopefully now, when I tell parents not to worry when their sweeties scream, cry, run off in an opposite direction while exploring or pout, you know that from the bottom of my heart I mean it!

Because it all works out in the end.

Ariana's one year photoshoot {San Diego Children's photographer}

So, funny thing I have come to realize about every cliche you see/read/hear about children growing up to fast.

They are all true. Which is why I love doing first year photography sessions so much! You leave the hospital with a sleepy, chubby, bundle of love - you blink, and they are a year old, which is a HUGE milestone, not just historically but in present day too. Just thinking about all the changes, accomplishments and developments that happen in the first year of life really is something to celebrate!

So happy almost first birthday beautiful Ariana, and congratulations on your first year!

I love these two photos for the same reason - look how big she is, but still so small. Just look at that delicate hand grasping her parents'

Such a beauty, with two wonderful parents!

Watch out world! {San Diego Newborn Photographer}

Two little baby boys in a row? Time to get a little femininity on this blog, and I have just the lady to do it!

My little sleepy buddy Carleigh.

I met her parents through a wonderful friend of mine, Charlotte of Red Charlotte . Christina and Gary make such a fantastic parenting team just two weeks in, I don't think Carleigh's teenage years will be a problem :)

When I showed up, Carleigh was peacefully swinging away, and had no intentions of going to sleep, but after some love from Mom and Dad, a load of dishes in the dishwasher and a beanbag covered in a shocking amount of snugly blankets we got her to sleep - and boy did she sleep!  Gary told me that once she falls asleep she is just out. As the parent of a baby who has never been a fan of sleep and finds any way he can to worm his way out of slumber I was a bit skeptical, but, WOW! Just WOW!

Such a sweet, beautiful girl.

Congrats Christina and Gary!

Oh baby! Newborn party, part 3 {San Diego Newborn Photography}

Alright, I gave you guys a break so you could recover from all of the baby sweetness that has been sprinkled all over my blog as of late.  I hope you took some good time off, had a great weekend, and are back and ready to jump right into the cuteness!

I know I am.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, please meet Ian.

You may notice that I put this picture up on my Facebook Fan Page over the weekend, and I have been excited to share the last installment of images from the Newborn party hosted by a beautiful mother named Tara.

Ian was the youngest of the group at just 5 weeks, which, if we are being honest had me a bit nervous before the session. He was out of that bendy, always asleep newborn - newborn stage, but not quite an infant yet, as you can see though, he was just a pure, photogenic delight.

Tara, Katie & Becky, it was a pleasure meeting you and your beautiful babies. Thank you for letting me share their sweetness with the world!

Newborn Party {San Diego Newborn Photographer}

Once I had my son, my heart instantly grew a soft spot for little boys.

Which made photographing Decker a bit of a challenge. It took all my energy to not fawn over him and get some pictures taken! You will understand, just look!

Okay, glad we are on the same page. Please pick your sweetly melted heart up at the end of this blog. Thanks.

Decker and his mother, Katie were two of the wonderfully fun people at Tara's newborn photography get together.

Katie brought a blanket for Decker to be photographed with

Beautiful blanket, no?

Decker's Grandmother made it for him with old shirt's that were his Grandfather's. Such a beautiful and meaningful gift.

Here are a couple more shots of the dapper dude!

Look at that chub!

Fathers, watch out for your daughters. He is here, and stealing hearts already.

Oh baby! Newborn Party, part 1 {San Diego Newborn photographer}

Oh baby, baby!

This is Ella

Ella's mom Tara got in touch with me to do some pictures of her brand new baby girl. This was a first for me. Not the photography subject, the name. I have never met another Ella in all of my twenty something years (yeah, lets just leave it at twenty something). So I was thrilled to meet another one, and another one who was so well behaved, beautiful and charismatic. I would like to think it had something to do with the name, but once you meet Ella's mom, you know that baby Ella takes after her!

Where was I? Sorry, cute babies leave me aflutter.

Oh! Ella's mom. Tara got in touch with me to do Ella's photos, which snowballed into Tara inviting over a few of her friends who also have babies and having a bit of a nosh while the babies acted as beautiful models.

It was a blast, and I am so glad I was able to be a part of it! Fantastic idea Tara!

Marriage {San Diego Engagement Photography}

The theme that the world gave me this weekend was love. First, with Marty and Jael and then the newly engaged Nikki and Josh.

Hi Nikki, Hi Josh!

These two almost newlyweds and I spent the morning together in a beautiful yard filled with oak trees - the same yard where Nikki and Josh will be having their wedding in just about 4 months. One of the best things about this area?

It has a hitching post, a real, true, hitching post. Not a common thing here in San Diego.

Another beautiful couple where their love shines through, I can't wait to capture their vows!

Look at this venue!  Kind of perfect for a late afternoon/evening summer wedding isn't it?

Congrats Nikki and Josh!

You know this is going to be good...{San Diego Maternity Photographer}

....when the first picture I post is this....

Meet Marty and Jael!

Alright, I admit it, I am starting to get a bit jealous. What is with all these beautiful pregnant women?  How do they do it?

Oh, sorry, you still here? My moment of jealousy has passed, thanks for sticking it out.

Okay, meet Marty and Jael!

They are young, adorable, fun and they are going to make fantastic parents. We met up at Powerhouse Park in Del Mar for their maternity pictures, and after several gloomy weeks, the weather couldn't have been more perfect.

Look at that beautiful bump and that fantastic natural light.

A quick anecdote about Marty and Jael. As I was sitting on the couch, editing photos of these two, my husband was curled up next to me. He was doing his own thing but glanced over at my work and said "Wow, those two really love each other, huh?"

Oh.
My.
Goodness.

Nail hit on head. After spending just two hours with these two, there were several things that were clear. Their kindness, their graciousness, how fun they are, but what really stood out, both in person and on camera was their love for each other. In every picture, and I kid you not. It really is every picture. In every picture where they are looking at each other, their faces just light up. I pretty much melted through all the editing.

If the love they have for each other is this big, just imagine the love their son is going to be surrounded by. Lucky, lucky boy.
